  I ordered this from Maison Peony thinking it was the regular Ylang In Gold, but the special edition arrived instead. I tried it and it’s a whole other world: it smells like such sweet vanilla ice cream that it cloyed me, lacking the summer freshness and elegance I expected. I was too lazy to return it from Monterrey to Mexico City, so I tried layering it with Ylang Ylang Nosy Be, and magic happened! They balance each other out: Nosy Be stops being sour, and the special edition finally smells summery. Problem solved, but what a shame for the brand for not updating the photos and selling it 40% more expensive without any customer service. Terrible.

  I bought this by mistake, thinking it was the classic edition, but it turns out to be the special nectar. At first, it wasn’t my style, but I ended up keeping it because I absolutely love it. It’s gorgeous—very tropical and floral, creamy with a touch of vanilla. You can really smell the coconut like coconut cream, wrapped in an aura of yellow flowers and vanilla. It’s super versatile, and I’ve fallen in love with it.
