This fragrance is incredible—it instantly transports me to Greece, where in summer it smells like olive groves in Sparta and Chios. Vert des Bois, or ‘Green of the Forest,’ marks a new step in fine herbaceous essences, blending fresh olives, woods, resins, and flowers. At first, you get willow shoots and a hint of ‘ouzo,’ that typical anise liqueur from the islands. Then it mingles with anise, sweet plums, rustic olive leaves, and pickled olives. A touch of jasmine makes it unisex. By the way, Vert des Bois has earned its place among Tom Ford’s best creations, even surpassing what many expected from Ralph Lauren’s Green.
