Perfumer
Sylvie Jourdet
Born far from Grasse and with no connections in the perfume industry, her professional career is atypical. She began her studies in pharmacy, but was then drawn to cosmetic formulation. She enrolled in the ISIPCA, where she developed a passion for perfume and changed direction. After working for a major laboratory in the sector, she put her expertise at the service of young brands, helping them in their creative process.
In the year 2000, she founded her own company, Créassence. Here she creates fragrances for niche brands such as Histoires de Parfums, Olibanum, The Burren Perfumery, Razza Fragrances, Dear Diary, Maître Parfumeur et Gantier, and works on olfactory projects for large companies such as BNP, Orange and the Tour de France.
Her commitment and actions to promote and elevate the profession of perfumer-creator led her to become President of the Société Française des Parfumeurs from 2005 to 2009 and again from 2013 to 2017. She is currently Honorary President. In 2011, she was appointed Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur. A professor at the ISIPCA and at the University of Montpellier, she is also a member of Cosmetic Valley and Treasurer of the International Society of Perfume-Creators, of which she is a founding member.
