My fragrance star of 2024. I’m taking on Vetiver by Guerlain for the top spot in my collection. This is the purest, earthiest, greenest vetiver I’ve ever tried, blended with warm angelica, cloves, a powdery iris butter, and a musky ambrette base. For me, VB hits the perfect midpoint between Vetiver by Guerlain and French Lover by Frédéric Malle, two of my all-time favorites. Guerlain is refined and complex, with a citrus top, distinctive tobacco, and an animalic base. French Lover is bold and modern, featuring astringent angelica and incense over a woody amber base. Corticchiato’s version, on the other hand, is luminous, light, natural, and realistic without losing any refinement—it’s simply elegant. Wearing it makes me feel revitalized, focused, confident, and mentally clear. Who wouldn’t want that kind of boost?
