Descripción
Vain & Naïve by Nishane is an oriental floral fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2018, this composition was created by perfumer Chris Maurice. The top notes of orange and bergamot deliver a vibrant citrus opening. The heart unfolds a sophisticated blend of raspberry, plum, rose, jasmine, and cedar, creating a balanced interplay between fruity, floral, and woody accords. Finally, the base notes settle with elegance thanks to the presence of sandalwood, tonka bean, musk, amber, patchouli, and benzoin, offering a rich and long-lasting olfactory sequence.

Despite my bad experiences with niche, this blind buy shattered my expectations. Like finding an unexpected but perfect love. It smells like romance and gives me deja vu of the future I long for with my partner. Due to COVID, just smelling it revives that daily desire. Setting aside the cheesy parts, it’s sweet and fruity: tangerine with a wet amber base, floral notes, and a mystical charm, like a living painting in a book beside candles. Few perfumes reach the soul this way; it’s not pretentious, its vanity lies in its innocence. Perfume is art, and this is like ‘La Vita è Bella’: a natural, direct emotion.
What a beauty, it’s divine and a dream… one of my favorites. It’s super versatile, perfect as a signature scent. I’m completely in love, and I’ll be buying it again when I run out.
Beautiful, divine, a dream… one of my favorites. Very versatile, perfect as a signature scent. I’m head over heels; I’ll repurchase when I run out.
@hayali’s review moved me to tears. So beautiful.
Smells like sincerity, with a delicate and elegant touch. A true gem.
I’m adding a dissenting voice to the previous positive reviews. It’s not a bad perfume—none of Nishane’s have been so far—but you have to like the plum note, which is very dominant here. I’ve tested it on different days and temperatures to give it a fair shot. What bothers me most is the opening, which smells like sour, thickened butter, giving way to a fruity bomb lightly adorned with florals. In short: plum plus fruits. It reminded me of Decadence, sadly discontinued. Good longevity, performance, and sillage.
Vain & Naive by Nishane 🌹, or as I call it, the Little Prince perfume 💙🪐. A masterpiece by perfumer Carbonnel for the Turkish house Nishane. A dance of fruits, florals, and amber notes that blend without imposing, creating harmony and peace. I always say it evokes calm, innocence, and childhood memories. It’s hard to describe because it’s so well-rounded, but I detect plum, rose, amber, and sandalwood, all very homogeneous. Totally unisex, lasting 7-8 hours with moderate projection. Comes in a box featuring the classic rose illustration 🌹❤️. Check out @vale.perfumatica.
Vain & Naive by Nishane 🌹 Or as I call it, the Little Prince’s perfume 💙🪐. It’s by master Carbonnel for the Turkish niche house. Here, fruits, flowers, and amber dance together without overpowering each other, creating harmony and peace. I always tell people it gives me peace, innocence, and reminds me of childhood. It’s hard to describe because it’s so well-rounded, but I detect plum, rose, amber, and sandalwood, all very homogeneous. It’s totally unisex, lasts 7-8 hours with moderate projection. I’m usually into soft, bittersweet scents, but this one doesn’t fit that vibe. It’s a pure woody fragrance, not aggressive. It starts fresh and citrusy, then gains depth with plum, a barely perceptible touch of rose, and a base of cedar, sandalwood, amber, and benzoin with a mentholated nuance, likely from the patchouli. It’s niche—nothing overly sweet or commercial—but perfect for daily wear. It’s not an overwhelming classic for men or women; it’s unisex. I’m not totally obsessed, but I recognize the quality of the oils. I hope I’ll enjoy it more in winter.
The inspiration comes from The Little Prince’s work; its teachings guide a thoughtfully crafted fragrance. It opens with a raspberry bomb that accompanies the entire development, followed by a rose accord with a typical red fruit sweetness. It finishes soft and velvety with a hidden but perceptible white floral; it’s sweet but not gourmand. To me, the raspberry leans more toward plum. Based on the floral notes, I think it suits women better, but it’s unisex, versatile, and striking. In winter, it works discreetly; spring and autumn are its best moments; summer works well too, though there are other options before calling it a signature in the heat. It projects fully with great performance and trail; 3 sprays in spring were enough, it clings to clothes, and my pillow still smelled of it the next day. A noble aroma that reminds me of childhood times when we didn’t care about anything.
Inspired by ‘The Little Prince’, this fragrance is a rounded gem that transports me back to childhood memories. It opens with a raspberry explosion that dominates the entire development, followed by roses that give it a very characteristic sweetness of red fruits. It closes softly and velvety with a subtle white floral. It’s sweet but not gourmand; the raspberry mutes the plum quite a bit. Given its floral notes, I think Vain & Naive suits women better, though it’s unisex and versatile. In winter, it works discreetly, but its best time is spring and autumn; in summer, there are better options to use as a signature scent. It projects a lot with just 3 sprays, sticks to clothes, and the next day my pillow still smells like ‘The Little Prince’. A noble aroma that evokes times when we didn’t worry about anything.
Unlike my other tests with more predictable scents, this one took me longer to understand. I needed several wears, and even now that I’m writing the review, I’m still figuring out my take (in the best way possible). It’s a complex fragrance that, paradoxically, doesn’t smell like it; that contradiction is what makes it my favorite today and the one I identify with most, even among over 25 fragrances. On its profile, I find a perfect balance between floral, sweet, and fruity notes (without being cloying), clean woods, and a creamy touch. On my skin, everything is in harmony. The longevity hovers around 8-9 hours. It doesn’t have much projection, but it creates a personal bubble; as you move, you leave a subtle trail. Curiously, I notice a ‘gummy’ sensation, like clean plastic; it’s a particular impression, hard to explain but addictive. It’s very versatile and works for almost any occasion, though I’d avoid it in extreme heat or very formal events. For me, it evokes a true ‘dream,’ like being inside The Little Prince. Worth trying, especially on skin. In three words: Sophisticated, versatile, and unique. Rating: 10/10.
