I don’t like the top notes, but once the base notes kick in, it smells like Gloria. It’s quite long-lasting, surely between 8 to 12 hours, and the price is very accessible. I definitely recommend it.
Hooray! An extraordinary fragrance for fifty-somethings like me. People who grew up in the eighties, if we like colognes, we feel a weakness for ferns, but it’s true they remind us of our parents, uncles, and grandpas… So only the really brave put on fragrances from that era; many find them off-putting even if they secretly love them. Well, this is one of the fougères made for us: it’s classic, but the dry down with that sweet lavender accompanied by vanilla, the typical dry-down of those times, makes it spectacular for fifty-somethings and up. For some it will be perfect, for others, the older crowd, a bit modern, but if you like ferns, it’s a gem with a dry down very much from the late nineties.
This Iceberg 1995 cheapie is an absolute beast, especially since the Italian house hasn’t quite caught on in Spain yet! They have some seriously interesting scents for men and women at insane prices. Twice for Him is simple but charming: a citrus-herbal vibe very much in the Acqua di Parma style, without the cringe of wannabe trendsetters or pretentious fashionistas. It’s a classic, old-school herbal fougere. Some of their best stuff for guys. The other little perfumes they have are a bit generic, copying current bestsellers or lasting less than a day. The bottle design is awesome, the atomizer works well, and the cap is unique and rare. The price is ridiculously good compared to today’s market. The scent is original, even if the snobs say it smells like Benetton Cold (which I suspect Mr. Benetton doesn’t even remember). Incredible longevity for a citrus, very fresh and fun, perfect for spring-summer but wearable year-round. Think about it: people spend 200 euros on mega-pretentious citrus scents that last the same or less (I won’t name names to avoid hurting egos).
