This was my first niche test alongside Godolphin. I loved it from the first spray; it smells very refined, elegant, and classy. If I could afford the price, I’d buy it to wear with formal attire in cold weather. At least with the decant I have, the scent is too potent for hot climates.
A sample arrived, and without seeing the notes, I thought of a green juice, like celery. Once it dried, it became more masculine, with dry woods, cardamom, and something earthy. It’s complex, but the base (coffee-cardamom-wood) doesn’t quite convince me; it reminds me of burnt rubber. Curious, because based on the notes I thought I’d like it, but I don’t recommend buying it blind.
I thought the oud might be an issue given how animalistic it usually is, but I went in blind and have no regrets: it’s a marvel. Cardamomo dominates with a floral touch, while the vanilla and cinnamon are barely noticeable. The oud is hardly felt, just providing a woody base. It’s a Western fragrance with modern, elegant oriental touches.
