It’s a super fresh, green fragrance with that lemon and bitter orange note that doesn’t suit everyone. I used to love it, though sometimes that dry bitterness held me back. It’s very similar to Pleasures by Estée Lauder; my sister used to steal mine and we couldn’t tell the difference, but hers was less bitter.
How heartbreaking that they discontinued it!!! I first knew it through my mom, who’s worn it for years. To me, it was a fresh, quirky, citrusy scent with class. I pictured a woman in white in Greece, eating at a paradise-like, elegant spot… haha.
A weird fragrance, barely smells like perfume. The name Sunwater evokes sun and water, i.e., summer. And yes, it brings me summer memories, but of my mom’s self-tanner that smelled stale and unpleasant. It smells exactly like that. I don’t like it and it doesn’t make me feel good. After reading reviews, I think it might be spoiled. Maybe. Either way, my joy is a well. It’s not even good for wearing alone; has anyone thought a perfume could smell like this? The bottle is also very plain. Of Lancaster, I only tried Sunwater and Eau de Lancaster, and neither of them worked for me (though this one is worse). Lancaster has a lot of suspense. Luckily, it’s discontinued and only available on specific websites. Maybe they kept it for years and it just went bad.
Sunwater was fresh, present, and not overwhelming, yet very persistent. It had a great revitalizing character. The opening was incredibly fresh and full of life, with a fleeting touch of sweetness from the ylang, but nothing else. Quickly, the earthy part came out, not overpowering; the vetiver had a very fresh consistency. In my experience, it’s much more unisex than feminine. After an hour, it warmed up beautifully, usable in both summer and winter. I bought it online and it was way past its prime, so I had to return it, which hurt; it was impossible to use like that. I was hoping for a lovely fresh woody scent from the late 2000s. If anyone knows one like this, let me know; it was one of my favorites from that era.
It was a beautiful perfume. A woody, warm water with a hint of temperate waters, refreshing and comforting, very silky. @casablanca, citrus waters have a hard life; over the years, they fade faster than opulent perfumes, which even when faded, regain some of their essence when aired out.
I loved it, a fresh and aquatic aroma with a very particular floral touch and soft but persistent woody base notes. Very good longevity on my skin. It could have been my favorite daytime fragrance for a long time; it’s a shame they discontinued it, I’m dying for a bottle…
