It feels very sexy; on my skin, it evolves beautifully. It smells powdery but features a soft, cozy wood note. It’s not annoying. I wore it to a casual dinner with friends, and everyone praised it, even though I thought it would go unnoticed. It’s one of the perfumes I want in my collection for the colder months. I think it works very well at night.
I bought this blindly because I’m a fan of the collection. I consider 500 Years, Spices Must Flow, and especially Experimentum Crucis to be exceptional perfumes that have gone unnoticed. Well, this one is nowhere near their level. I think it’s poorly executed because it smells very abstract—a strange mix of notes creating an indescribable aroma. It’s a metallic powdery blast with smoky touches. It sounds too synthetic to me. The price is way too high for what it offers. I don’t recommend it at all.
It’s a powdery scent that I like; the suede and rose give that effect. I detect vanilla, musk, and a distant hint of incense. I want to highlight that, unlike other citrus notes I don’t enjoy, the bergamot here is pleasant and blends well. However, I’ve smelled similar scents, so it’s not very original for me. If you love powdery scents, Putain des palaces from the same house is a better option.
ELDO always surprises, and this one is no exception. I’m not a rose fan, but I love this. It opens with talc and something synthetic, but it’s not annoying. Then comes a sweet rose with sandalwood that doesn’t smell like brine, a bit of musk, and barely perceptible vanilla. I like it, but I don’t think it justifies the regular price; better to find it on sale. I grabbed it for $120 on Fragrancenet.
Smells weird at first, like a synthetic musk from Alaia, but it fades quickly to leave a creamy bergamot that reminds me of Danish pastries. It’s not gourmand; it’s clean, like Dove soap with a citrus twist. In the dry down, there are oily woods, dusty leather, and a trail of vanilla and benzoin. Smells like baby skin—velvety and sweet. Perfect for cool days. Not for everyday wear, but ideal for curling up under a blanket. Pleasant: 7/10 Interesting: 8/10 Versatile: 7/10 Original: 9/10
