  • I just picked up one of the richest sandalwoods I’ve ever smelled, maybe the best. It’s one of those Western sandalwoods—creamy, almost milky, in the style of Perris or Diptyque, nothing like Santal 33. It’s super elegant, with luminous, bright, solar, and citrus facets, but they’re nuances; the star is an incredible creamy sandalwood. If I see a good deal, I’ll grab it, but for now, the price seems too high.

  • A luminous and fresh sandalwood that, although it looks like another spicy recipe, smells different from what I’ve tried before. It’s formulated very cleanly, with a natural and almost green jasmine. As it dries, it becomes creamy, but sometimes I notice a medicinal touch that keeps it especially fresh throughout its evolution. I see it as 100% unisex, ideal for everyday wear, especially during daytime hours. The longevity is immense, a minimum of 10-12 hours, and I can still detect it on my skin the next day. Projection and sillage are moderate, more intimate than I expected, but that’s not a drawback. I really liked it and found it distinct; it could even appeal to those who don’t usually wear woody scents. For now, I’m not buying it because I already have many in this note, but I won’t rule it out in the future.

  • Santal Blond is a gorgeous sandalwood, much brighter and more characterful than its cousins. Wrapped in a green, slightly camphorated, and citrusy aura, it rests on a deep woody base. That initial light comes from cardamom, while hinoki adds that green/camphor touch that, far from overwhelming, textures the sandalwood base. As it dries, it darkens a bit and hints at incense, but without losing its heart. I feel it’s super original, more masculine, and wearable all year. Its only flaw is that the performance is just okay, and that, combined with the price, takes off some points. Still, it deserves a try. Rating: 7.5/10 (Discovery Set).
