Descripción
Romantina by Juliette Has A Gun is a chypre floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2011, this olfactive composition unfolds with a vibrant combination of Turkish rose and bergamot in its top notes. The heart reveals a harmony between iris, patchouli, vetiver, orange blossom, and neroli, while the base settles on musk, cetalox, castoreum, vanilla, benzoin, and tonka bean.

It’s pleasant, but it didn’t wow me at all. It lasted three hours on my skin, and honestly, the price isn’t justified. Once I finish my sample, I won’t be buying the full bottle, though I’m glad I tried it. It’s fairly linear, smelling of that typical red rose found in postmodern JHAG perfumes from start to finish: potent, green, and natural, yet synthetic and intense, with patchouli, musk, and those chemical notes like Iso E Super or ambroxan. Compared to classics like Lady Vengeance, Romantina only adds two things: a) a sweeter rose-patchouli-musk base, as if it had honey added, perhaps from vanilla or tonka bean, though it’s not that kind of sweet. b) That trio feels unbalanced because the musk is stronger, not covering up the rose or patchouli. When mixed with vetiver, bergamot, and cetalox, it leaves a subtly citrusy, clean yet rugged and woody aroma. The best part is the dry-down: the rose fades in intensity and blends with that dry, warm, cool, yet sensual woody vetiver. It’s a shame it arrives so quickly and fades so fast. It’s harmless, subtly carnal, swinging between innocent and showy, sensual and reserved. There are more unique options out there, but you can’t deny it’s a pretty fragrance.
It gives me a delicious sense of cleanliness, lasts a decent amount of time, and doesn’t project too much. It’s not just a perfume for romance; it’s for sweating and letting that scent trail along the skin of the wearer, marking their trail. It suits everyone. It has a rich, complex evolution; sometimes it smells floral in such a natural way that it moves you.
What a good one! Smells like classy musk. At first, when I blind-bought it in 2020 or 2021, it didn’t really click for me, but after letting it mature… boom! It turned into a beast. I’m wearing it on my wrist right now. It’s perfect for spring and summer, but without that cheesy vibe you often get from fragrances in those seasons. Romantina has character and its own personality. It can also be worn at night.
