Waooo… I just bought it and it’s a beast! Nothing to do with the original Romance, so if you’re looking for the same DNA, forget it. I adore the first one and I have it, but this is another level. It lasts more than 6 hours, it’s very woody, without sweetness despite the vanilla and patchouli. What I love most is the violet and the wood; it smells super distinguished and unique, nothing common. The best part: it’s not heavy. If you want something good and different, try it. I bought it blind and I don’t regret it.
Waooo… I just bought it and it’s spectacular. It has nothing to do with the first version of Romance, so if you’re thinking it’s the same or keeps the DNA, I warn you: it’s not. Watch out, I love the original and keep it, but this is simply a perfume bomb. It lasts on the skin more than 6 hours, it’s quite woody, and I don’t feel anything sweet, even though it has vanilla and patchouli. What I highlight most is the violet and the woods; it smells super distinguished, doesn’t seem like anything, and doesn’t belong to the common fragrances of today. Very important: it’s not heavy. If you want to stand out with something good and different, give it a chance. I bought it blind and I’m glad to have it.
I was surprised they classified it as woody instead of citrusy. I tried it a few days ago, and on my skin, what stood out most was the bergamot and green mandarin. The opening reminded me of the DKNY in the long gray bottle that’s no longer sold… the dry-down I honestly didn’t notice because I tried several on the same day and the others were stronger, there wasn’t even a trace of this. Anyway, I liked it a lot and I’m eager to try it again with more detail. I’ll see if I can go to the perfumery these days and expand my review.
It’s amazing. At first, it seemed strange to me, with a spicy and woody touch that didn’t convince me. But the second time was a crush. It’s sweet, elegant, and mysterious. You can feel that spectacular blackcurrant opening. It lasted me a long time; maybe what lasted the most was the vanilla and not so much the wood, but anyway: I love it.
I bought it blind because I liked the original Romance, and this one has completely caught me. At first, it smells like something heard everywhere, but then a note emerges that makes it unique and doesn’t smell like an office; for me, it’s the blend of cedar and bergamot. It goes great in winter during the day and also for a summer night thanks to those citrus notes.
I bought it blind because I loved the original Romance, and this one is a keeper. It feels like one of those ubiquitous scents you smell everywhere, but it has a special touch thanks to the cedar and bergamot blend that doesn’t get lost in the office. Works great for winter days or summer evenings with those citrus notes.
What a gorgeous fragrance. I was really missing something so elegant and rich from Ralph Lauren. It doesn’t smell woody; it’s more fruity-floral. I can definitely detect the violet, rose, and blackcurrant. Nothing of that typical sweetness; instead, it’s sophisticated and perfect for formal occasions. That blackcurrant reminds me of my favorite Olympea Blossom. The only downside is the longevity—it’s barely noticeable on the skin after six hours, which is a shame given how good the notes are. It turns Romance into a great option that needs reapplication during the day. That said, the faint talcum-like drydown is noticeable and smells so good you can’t stop smelling yourself.
What a beautiful perfume; I’m already missing something so elegant and delicious from Ralph Lauren. It doesn’t seem woody to me, more fruity-floral. I notice a lot of violet, rose, and blackcurrant. It’s not cloying; on the contrary, it’s elegant, perfect for something formal. In fact, its blackcurrant reminds me of my beloved Olympea Blossom. The only thing I haven’t liked is the longevity; barely noticeable on the skin after 6 hours, which is sad given such a great combination of notes that make Romance a great choice that should be reapplied during the day. That said, the faint powdery dry-down is felt and smells so good you don’t want to stop smelling it.
Very delicious! Even though it doesn’t have coconut, after a while it smells similar. It’s elegant and spicy. I recommend it for cold climates day and night; in the heat, only at night, otherwise it feels heavy. Here in Chile, it’s a minimum of 30 degrees, and it feels disgusting, so it’s perfect for the cold seasons.
So rich, although it doesn’t have a coconut note, after a while something similar becomes perceptible. It’s very elegant and spicy. Yes, I recommend using it in cold climates day and night; on hot days, only at night, otherwise it feels heavy. (In Chile right now it’s at least 30 degrees and it smells disgusting). That’s why I recommend it for cold seasons.
So delicious! I tried it in the perfume shop today, and it doesn’t smell exactly like the classic Romance. The original is tender and floral with a vintage touch, but this is a modern, seductive version that breaks the mold. I love it; it’s so aromatic that it hits hard on the first spray—first vanilla and woods, then a burst of freshness. It reminds me of Versace’s Crystal Noir. If used moderately, it can be daily wear thanks to those herbal hints, though it’s also ideal for night. It feels unisex to me, suiting anyone with a calm, mysterious vibe. It’s very cozy, and I’m definitely buying it.
So rich… I heard it in the perfumery today out of curiosity, and it doesn’t look much like the classic Romance. The original is sweet and floral with a vintage touch, but this one is modernized and seductive, breaking the mold. I love it; it’s so aromatic I smelled it on the first spray: vanilla with woods, then freshness and more freshness, you have to try it. It reminds me of Versace Crystal Noir. If used moderately, it could be daily due to its herbal hints, I exist! (Though yes, maybe it’s more for night). It’s worth noting that I think it’s unisex; it would suit anyone with a calm and mysterious vibe. It’s very cozy, and I’m sure I’ll use it more later.
Although it doesn’t fit what you listed, Romance Intense isn’t new in perfumery. I’d classify it as FRUITY; the blackcurrants are very present. On my skin, the flowers blur out; when it dries, even though they say it’s woody, what I notice most is patchouli. Its name ‘intense’ doesn’t do it justice: only the opening is noticeable, but it fades in 5 minutes and you only smell it if you bring your hand close to your nose.
True, it’s not new, so don’t buy it if you’re looking for surprises. But for me, it was love at first sight; it smells like clean, soapy flowers, like an expensive shampoo. The trail and longevity are top-notch. Even though I have tons of designer perfumes and didn’t want any more, it stole my heart. I love wearing it right after a shower to boost that freshly washed scent.
