Descripción

Orange Cordoue by Katana Parfums is an oriental fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2021, this composition was created by perfumer Alp Veliogullari. Upon release, the fragrance unfolds a vibrant citrus explosion featuring tangerine, orange, sweet orange, and lemon, whose refreshing acidity opens the path. The heart reveals a warm and enveloping evolution where musk, citrus, sandalwood, and amber intertwine to create a woody and resinous base. Finally, the base settles into a silky sequence of castoreum, musk, orange, and amber, leaving a sweet and persistent trail that defines the essence of this unisex creation.

Orange Cordoué is basically pure orange. It starts with a citrus explosion: oranges, tangerine, and lemon. Over time, the scent becomes more animal, with musk and castoreum giving it a leathery touch, plus a smoky tobacco base. It’s very amber and sweet. The fragrance is concentrated and dense; it starts intense but settles down to become more wearable. It lasts about 8 hours on skin with soft projection, better in the first hour. I recommend it to those who love orange and animal aromas. Although it’s humid and dense, I think it can be worn during the day. Scent: 9, Longevity: 8, Projection: 5, Versatility: 7, Originality: 10, Total: 9

It’s a very interesting perfume, an uncommon blend that’s nothing complicated. Basically, it’s super-citrusy orange, neither bitter nor sweet like tangerine, but fresh and acidic. Then comes a very solid animal base with woody nuances; I’d say it carries oud even though it’s not listed in the notes—it’s that wide, full-bodied depth that only makes sense to me, especially knowing it’s from this house. Papillon has Salomé, which isn’t so citrusy, and Bengale Rouge, which is, but adds cinnamon and has a more animal than woody base, plus it’s much weaker than in Orange Cordoué. It’s very versatile thanks to this combination. It would be the summer perfume for oud lovers. It’s elegant, sensual, fresh, and wearable… no weird scents, it’s original and liked by many people. The only flaw is projection and strength. It’s not as weak as Santal Segar from the house, but it doesn’t even come close to the power and presence of Oud Damascena, which remains Katana’s best.
