Love at first sniff… or maybe not. I tried it one afternoon; I’m already quite deep into the oud world and have sampled (almost) every type out there. This perfume is a classic pink-oud animal oriental blend—very dark, spicy, and incredibly intense. It reminds me of a mix between The Night and POAL, both by Frederic Malle. The most curious thing is that it claims to have Persian oud, meaning Iranian oud; I don’t know where they got that idea since there are no Aquilaria trees in Iran. To me, it smells like Indian oud—very dirty, animalic, cheesy, and lactic. The longevity and projection are monstrous. It’s a difficult perfume to wear unless you’re the Prince of Arabia… still, it’s a masterpiece, but let’s not talk about the price, which is absolutely not justified.
