Oak Shade Brings Dark Woods, Rum and Warm Amber Together
BLACKSTAG introduced Oak Shade in 2025 as a woody spicy fragrance for men and women. It was composed by perfumer Jérémy Sabater around an oak theme.
The structure moves from peppery fruit and rose to a liquorous amber heart and then to a grounded, earthy wood base.
Up top, black pepper, plum and rose set a sharp contrast. The pepper feels fresh and aromatic, the plum adds dark juicy fruit, and the rose brings a soft floral lift that keeps the opening from turning too dry.
The middle shifts the focus to texture. Oak comes through dry and deep, wrapped in amber and tonka bean for warm sweetness. Rum ties it together with a boozy richness that suits the woody core.
Down in the base, vetiver adds a green, earthy edge while sandalwood smooths the blend. The broader woody notes hold everything in place and keep the drydown firmly in woody territory.
