Monopteros is a perfume that definitely won’t leave anyone indifferent. It’s a scent totally different from anything I’ve tried before. Fresh floral and aldehydic with that airy, soapy touch typical of the genre, but layered with a very important spicy and fruity note. The heart features a rose that stays fresh yet deeply nuanced by its surroundings. It opens with a delicious raspberry and coconut blend that, at times, reminds me of the smell of pineapple as it’s crafted here. Behind the rose lies a coffee note that darkens and muddies the fragrance slightly, adding more body, along with a spice mix that gives it its own personality. Performance is on the moderate side, with medium-to-high longevity and a discrete sillage. That said, when it works well. If it works well and while it lasts: what a treat!
