Hi, I tried it and it didn’t hook me: that yuzu is too piercing and bitter. I was excited because I loved Loewe’s 7 Natural, which also features yuzu, so I imagined something fantastic, but it wasn’t the case. I think they overdid it. If you love bitter scents, this is your pick, but I’ll clarify I’m only judging the opening—I didn’t want to continue to the heart or base because that overwhelming start just didn’t work for me.
Hi, I tried it and didn’t like it: that yuzu is excessively sharp and very bitter. I was excited because Loewe’s 7 Natural seemed excellent to me and has yuzu, so I thought a fragrance starring this Japanese citrus would be fantastic, but it wasn’t. I think they overdid the note; if you like bitter scents, it’s a good option. I’ll clarify I’m only reviewing the opening—I didn’t want to dig into the heart or base because that crushing start made me stop.
Yes, the citrus opening is potent and bitter, but within 15 to 20 minutes it softens into woody notes without losing that fresh, summery vibe. Recommended for hot climates; it feels youthful yet mature at the same time. Plus, it’s rare and uncommon, so if you have it, you’ll stand out and avoid smelling like everyone else.
What I smell most on my skin is yuzu and ginger; in the background, I detect cedar and nutmeg. It’s very similar to the original, but this Issey version is more potent on the citrus side and misses the herb or cinnamon. If you already have the classic, you don’t need this unless you’re a super fan of the brand. Lasts 6 hours with 2 hours of projection, ideal for heat. Worth $60 online. I expected more, so I’m giving it a 7/10.
On my skin, yuzu and ginger dominate, with cedar and nutmeg in the background. It resembles the original, but this version is more intense on citrus and lacks the herbal or cinnamon notes. If you already own the classic, this isn’t necessary unless you’re a huge Issey fan. Lasts 6 hours with 2 hours of projection; perfect for heat. Costs $60 online. I expected more, so I’m giving it a 7/10.
Starts with a sharp acidity that mellows into woody, green notes while keeping that citrus freshness but in a kinder way; perfect for smelling different and making an impression.
