  What a singular perfume. Although the notes say it’s a molecule, the perfumer explains it’s a traditional Indian distillation meant to capture the first drops of rain. It’s very different from Areej’s usual style. What does it smell like? I’ve read everything, from ‘it doesn’t smell like rain’ to ‘just woods and a notable petrichor.’ For me, this perfectly captures that wet earth, and I even noticed the scent of water in a clay vessel. What surprised me most is that after a few minutes, it doesn’t just stay there; a spicy, slightly woody, smoky note emerges without losing the clay or wet earth. That’s where I found the best reference: IT SMELLS LIKE MEZCAL! Specifically that very smoky mezcal, with a slight citrus touch felt both in scent and taste. Those earthy notes are exactly what it conveys. A scent that loved me at first sight… But here comes the bad part. After two hours, it disappears completely. What a pity for such an incredible scent, given its price and complexity; the longevity is disappointing and the projection barely lifts off the skin. Nevertheless, it’s absolutely worth trying for the olfactory experience.
