  • I loved your review and agree with everything! I also tried this perfume, especially since people compared it to Le Labo’s Rose 31, though I haven’t smelled that one yet. On my skin, Khaliji was 100% cumin; I never detected any flowers, sandalwood, or anything else, maybe a hint of citrus in the distance. Like you, I prefer cumin in my tacos, not in perfume. The funny thing is, I showed the perfume to several people, and many smelled exactly what I did: CUMIN! But to my surprise, other friends smelled lemon, saying it smelled fresh and nice. Uhhh?? Very rare. Maybe some people are sensitive to this ingredient, like me, while others don’t notice it as much; I’ve read English reviews where many people love it. I must say it’s my first time smelling a perfume with “animalic” notes, as it can smell a bit like sweat or heavily spiced food. I’ve sent my bottle to CokeChile and can’t wait to see his review and what it smells like on him—tacos or citrus?

  • When I read about these oils, I imagined the notes and thought: this must be delicious, and thanks to Cnidaria, I got a roll-on presentation. The opening is very intense; when applied to the skin, it feels very strong, smelling of lemon and the terpenes of these citrus fruits, which I don’t dislike, but then the spicy notes kick in, and for my nose and skin, it’s 100% cumin. I’m not saying I hate this spice, but I prefer cumin in food and only a tiny pinch in fragrance. I don’t detect any musk; maybe it gets lost on my skin, nor do I smell floral notes. I left it on me, and it lasted easily 8 to 10 hours, hoping it would change or soften to become magnificent, which didn’t happen. Another time, I reapplied it expecting a different result, but I had to wash the skin; first, I just let water run over my wrist without soap, rinsed a bit, and smelled again. Only then did I like it, but that’s not normal for a perfume. I don’t doubt it’s a great fragrance on the right skin, but for me, it’s too strong: lemon and cumin turning into something unpleasant that irritates my nose. Not for me, but I have a feeling it would work great on a man. I really tried to be charmed by this oil; it does last a long time, it is concentrated.

  • Ohhh Cnidaria! Thanks for the treasures. This perfume is an absolute bomb—super potent and very special. The first impression is a strong, spicy green note, like camphorated lemon with a clean undertone; I can detect cumin, but on me it sits underneath, kind of like wearing perfume right after a gym session without showering. It reminds me of a more citrusy version of Pleasures. There’s definitely cumin, but the camphorated citrus note disguises it. I’ll see how it evolves over a few hours and let you know.

  • Atalcadita

My review is for an oil from the brand El Nabil called Musc Khaliji, which isn’t listed on Fragrantica yet, but I hope they add it soon because I own many from this line that cost less than two euros and are wonderful. If you like Hermès green fragrances, you’ll surely love this; it reminds me of a garden south of the Nile. It’s green, fresh, and unisex, though I see it as almost masculine. A delight for less than two euros to keep in your pocket. Perfect for spring and summer.

  • I have this roll-on version; it’s fantastic and has nothing to do with the comparisons above—they surely have never used it. It separates what we know as Arab citrus-herbal-spiced from the Western style; they are worlds apart. Arabs have their own quality seal, while the West simply dilutes the Arab perfume in several stages to charge the same price regardless of quality. The lemon grass is impressive alongside the sandalwood and woody-spiced notes; it’s very real. I think it’s one of the ideal Arab fragrances for spring, summer, or evening.

  • For me, the opening note that dominates is cumin, then it shifts to the citrus fragrance they mention. It has good projection at the start and an equally good and acceptable trail. The price: spectacular!

  • What a rich scent! It’s incredible that this amazing perfume isn’t talked about more, because it doesn’t smell like any of the ones I listed above. It’s a fresh, super clean, and pleasant fragrance. It lasted 6 to 7 hours. At first, it’s noticeable, but after half an hour, you start wondering, ‘What is this smell?’ Because it transforms into its richest part, something truly delicious.

  • So rich! Incredible that this great perfume isn’t talked about more; it doesn’t resemble any of the ones above. It smells fresh, super clean, and pleasant. It lasts 6 or 7 hours. At first, it fades, but after half an hour, its richest part reappears—a truly delicious thing that makes you ask: what exactly is it smelling like?

  • To imagine this perfume, picture a Middle Eastern market overflowing with scents. Upon entering, spiced cardamomo sparkles with lemon grass and orange, creating a unique explosion that later turns amber with a floral touch. You feel clean and crisp; these fragrances from master perfumers have left me speechless.
