  • What an honor to be the first to write a review or attempt one, because besides, this is my favorite of all the Darkbeat perfumes! I notice the orange perfectly, creamy, sometimes more bitter, other times sweeter… the powdery white flowers are noticeable too. It’s very pretty and different… better for daytime. As soon as I tried it, I loved it… So, it’s already in my collection 😜 Congratulations 👍

  • JAZAL by DARKBEAT PARFUMS could be classified in the Citrus Indolic Olfactory Family. It’s not a citrus, strictu sensu, nor a floral or chypre, but it could be an amalgamation of all three. Its immediate opening is a very natural orange, oscillating between fresh sweet orange juice and the scent of a bitter orange nearing ripe, humid maturity with a drugged moldiness. But once past the Manderley gate and the citrus opening, we find ourselves on a winding path of an indolic white jasmine that alternates and vibrates against the flashes of the ever-present orange. Sometimes the moonlight makes us see light in a window of the great mansion, revealing a fleshy, lustful flower, a peony as close to ylang-ylang as to neroli. The base emanates an oriental longing, always cherished by the creator, which results in a temperature closer to a resinous chypre, yet without ever losing the orange and jasmine, the notes that configure this complex perfume. It would be like an Acqua di Parma crafted by a Saint Laurent in its glorious years. A perfume closer to the feminine universe that stands out for its longevity. A perfume from the seventies. The era when Yves Saint Laurent rested at Le Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, accompanied by Loulou de la Falaise and Betty Catroux, wrapped in colorful kaftans, Oriental turbans, and LSD vapors. It is the perfume of my slender ladies, perverse as reeds, who, from the disdainful gaze of a Delphine Seyrig in the year we spent in Marienbad, return me to a Manderley, always dreamed of and always unattainable.

Jazal from Darkbeat Parfums, thanks to José Manuel’s kindness. The opening is truly delicious. I perceive it as citrusy, yet also very sweet, fresh, and even a bit balsamic. Personally, I don’t detect the bitter orange note. Around fifteen minutes in, as it dries down, the citrus opening gives way to the floral notes of jasmine and peony. I also perceive it as a creamy rose, as user jarjim mentioned in her review. This stage is very pleasant too. I find it enveloping and very cozy. The perfume’s life on my skin was around 8 hours. Totally unisex perfume.

  • It gave me the impression that several perfumes I’ve tried from this brand share too many common elements. I usually criticize this because it feels like recycling, and in a hyper-saturated market full of new launches, I don’t think it’s appropriate to add more similar fragrances. But in the case of Fragrantico’s partner, I won’t criticize it since they’re just starting out and are already doing a decent job. That common DNA I see is hard to describe, like a fresh jasmine, nothing indolic, sweet, almost like an orange candy, with a hint of something oriental. It’s a curious and original DNA.

Two notes I absolutely love: orange and jasmine. I wore it for the first time today, and I find it delicate, delicious, and very feminine. A beautiful perfume.

  • At first, I definitely detect the creamy, deep bitter orange alongside the jasmine. Slowly, it takes a darker path, accompanied by resins and a woody accord. It smells good, but it’s not quite for me, as I feel it leans more toward the feminine side. I find it a very curious scent, pivoting from a resinous opening to a fresh note. That duality is very well balanced. The intermittent bursts of freshness are striking; it comes and goes. I’d love to smell it on a woman, but I’ve finished my decant. Great performance in both projection and longevity.

  • It opens with a juicy, natural orange, and you immediately sense the jasmine. It gradually becomes more floral as the peony joins in. Then it turns slightly resinous and balsamic. It’s a fragrance that makes me feel pretty. It’s delicate, but nothing boring. I’d wear it during the day and on summer nights too.
