It’s like mixing Santal 33 with Bianco Latte.
It’s like mixing Santal 33 with a little bit of Bianco Latte.
A Japanese whiskey with a Vietnamese soul: it’s incredible how many houses have emerged, and this Vietnamese one brings us an EDP inspired by Japan. The wooden box and minimalist bottle mimic opening an expensive single malt—a truly special presentation. It smells like whiskey left in the glass, with woody sandalwood notes, a light non-gourmand sweetness, and a powdery texture. As it dries down, the alcohol fades, leaving a creamy, hazelnutty, warm base that’s cozy and unisex (the opening is more masculine due to the whiskey). Good quality, versatile, and different from others like Baraonda, Kutay, or Old Fashioned. Minimal and rich. Two complaints: the alcohol projection is weak, and what really sucks is that it only comes in 150ml for $380, while other fragrances from the house are 50ml. It feels like a forced sales strategy; the Japanese philosophy speaks of serenity, but the size screams pure profit.
It’s a Japanese whiskey with a Vietnamese soul 🤑🫰💵. In recent years, many new perfume houses have emerged, and this Vietnamese brand brings us an EDP inspired by whiskey and Japanese culture. The presentation is brutal: wooden box and minimalist bottle, like opening an expensive Japanese whiskey. Upon application, it smells like whiskey stuck to the glass, with woody sandalwood notes, a sweet touch (not gourmand), and a powdery texture. As it dries, the whiskey fades, leaving only that alcoholic trail, while the woody notes become creamy and hazelnutty thanks to the chestnut note. The dry down is warm, cozy, and rich, very unisex; the opening is more masculine due to the dominant whiskey. Good quality, versatile, and minimalist. It reminds me of Baraonda, Kutay, and Old Fashioned (almost a copy of Kilian’s Single Malt). It definitely joins my collection. Two complaints: I wish the alcohol lasted longer, and what really bugs me is that it only comes in 150 ml. I’m not alone; the official website is full of complaints. If other perfumes from the house come in 50 ml, why is this one only 150 ml? That atypical size doesn’t sound special, but rather a forced sales strategy (US$380). I understand the Japanese philosophy of living in the moment, but the Vietnamese seem to have another idea. The perfume speaks of Japanese serenity, but the size screams profitability…
