  • Iris Silver Mist by SL: A strange, different, and irreverent scent compared to the usual. Brilliant, bold, and dense, with a velvety dry down. It defines a perfume that plays with your common senses to make them unusual, daring, and sensual. A glorious blend with niche perfume aesthetics. The most relevant thing is that the nose is not Shdrake, but Maurice Roucel, responsible for this exquisite aroma. Reading his career, I better understand that niche aesthetic, as I see most of his creations tend to be mainstream. Anyway, my praise makes this scent a rebellious way to be different. The notes of vetiver mixed with sandalwood, musk, amber, etc., make this perfume a blank canvas that you paint as its splendor reveals itself. Rating 8/10.

Iris Silver Mist left me a bit cold. It’s not a perfume I dislike, by any means, but it doesn’t really say much to me. Even though it didn’t convince me, the quality is certainly there. It’s a very earthy iris, especially at first, and over time I notice a metallic touch, as if it gives off a cold feeling, something hard to explain. I expected a different kind of iris, similar to what you find in other perfumes, giving that makeup sensation, but here I don’t feel that at all. I also notice the vetiver, which might be the one giving it that earthy touch, and to a lesser extent, the benzoin. I notice this last note mostly in the final dry down, when the perfume sweetens a bit, but nothing exaggerated. The performance on my skin was quite poor all three times I tried it. It is true that it lasts, and more so on clothes, but the projection in my opinion is quite low; at least, I could hardly smell it. Regarding the weather, I think it can be used in any climate, both fresh and hot. Anyway, it’s an original, well-made iris, but it didn’t convince me, both regarding the scent and performance, as well as its high price.

Iris Silver Mist left me a bit cold. It’s not that I dislike it, but it just didn’t speak to me. The quality is definitely there, even if it didn’t win me over. It’s a very earthy iris at first, then you get a metallic touch, like a cold sensation that’s hard to explain. I was expecting something more like those makeup-inspired perfumes, but here, nothing of that sort. You can smell the vetiver, which gives it that earthy vibe, and to a lesser extent, the benzoin, which shows up when it dries down and adds a touch of sweetness without going overboard. The performance on my skin was poor all three times I tried it. It does last, especially on clothes, but the projection is low; I could barely smell it. I think it works for any weather, cold or hot. Anyway, it’s an original, well-made iris, but it just didn’t convince me due to the scent, performance, and especially the price.
