About In From the Cold
In From the Cold: A Warm Room in Winter
In From the Cold from Pictura Fragrans is a unisex fragrance for women and men, launched in 2026 and composed by DL Jenkins. It frames scent as a transition from icy air to indoor comfort.
Up top are snow, spearmint, black tea, and hyssop. The opening feels crisp and herbal, like cold still clinging to a coat after stepping inside.
The first minutes stay clean rather than sharp. Snow gives a soft chill, spearmint lifts it, black tea adds dry depth and quiet warmth. Hyssop keeps the herbal edge alive.
The heart turns the temperature up. Tuberose takes center stage, rich and white with its familiar animalic undertone, tempered by karo karounde flower. It reads less like a formal bouquet and more like flowers in a lived-in room.
Old books, toasted bread, and a steam accord build the setting around it. Think paper, warm crumbs, a steaming mug, windows fogging gently.
The drydown settles on Dartanol®, cedar, and Norlimbanol™, a dry woody frame. Opoponax adds balsamic resin, muscenone keeps things airy, and rice pudding brings a soft milky sweetness.
Across amber, white floral, green, fresh, sweet, woody, aromatic, and balsamic facets, with tuberose and a light animalic touch, the scent moves in stages: frosty at first, then creamy, woody, and snug.
For fans of story-driven winter scents, bold tuberose, library-like coziness, and gentle gourmand touches of toast and rice pudding rather than heavy sugar.
In From the Cold starts with snow and tea, lingers over books and white flowers, then rests on woods, resin, and cream. A sheltering pick for cold weather.
