I wish I liked this scent, but it has one major flaw: the blackcurrant. In this fragrance, it’s pushed to its absolute maximum. I’ve never encountered another perfume with such an exaggerated, sharp blackcurrant note. It’s anything but subtle. The opening is incredibly strong and overwhelming. On top of that, the aldehydes don’t help calm things down. The first hour is just too much. The blackcurrant scent takes over your senses to the point of causing headaches, and even dizziness if you over-spray. People around you won’t mind at all because the aroma is pleasant and leaves a lovely trail, but the wearer has to suffer through it hour after hour until it settles and the blackcurrant steps back to let the floral and woody notes take the lead. I love it and hate it at the same time. I own it and will keep it for occasional use, but I’ll have to be very careful with the number of sprays, maybe even layer it with other scents, because that nuclear blackcurrant needs to be tamed somehow.
