The name is a total hit: a green, foresty, and very fresh aroma. At first, cypress and rosewood dominate; then sandalwood and moss take over, with the cypress softened and a mentholated note I can’t quite identify (maybe eucalyptus?). It lasts 3 or 4 hours on skin: the first hour is intense and noticeable from 40 cm away, after which it sits close to the skin, as if you just rolled around in the woods. I love it, ideal for personal use. If you like Mugler Aura, you’ll surely enjoy this body spray (they’re not clones at all, but both are herbal ‘love it or hate it’ types).

I’m a collector of over 200 perfumes and sprays, and I usually buy blind. This is the only one I regret. It’s only sold online, so I had no choice. Everything Lush has delighted me so far, and since I love green and woody scents, I thought this would be a hit. I read the reviews; while most were bad, the few good ones made me think I’d like it. To me, it just smells like grass. Freshly cut grass, in the sun, when the scent is strongest. It’s a very synthetic and potent smell; the first time I wore it, it made me gag and I had to shower. Since then, I use it as a bathroom freshener. The truth is, the scent is so strong it overpowers everything, but I still can’t get past that fake grass. Let’s see if the cold weather makes me like it more. For now, I recommend trying it before buying, and if you can’t, better leave it. NOTE: In another review, someone mentions Mugler Aura. I own that perfume and love it; I don’t see any resemblance in scent or style to Guardian of the Forest.
