I absolutely loved this perfume. Although I don’t remember the exact scent, I first encountered it while working as a Coty consultant (which also included YSL) back in 1986, I think. My colleagues were surprised I liked it since everyone else was obsessed with Rive Gauche and First, but I was completely head-over-heels for Gauloise. It was expensive and out of my budget, so I’d use it sparingly just to try it out; I was fascinated by its fresh, green notes, which really shaped my sense of smell.
