It’s my first oriental and I wanted to try saffron. I’m not sure if that’s what gives it the spice, but what I notice is a very prominent and potent sandalwood, without falling into that ‘lady’s perfume’ trap. It turns out sweet, spicy, and velvety; it sounds a lot like Comme des Garçons 2.
If you like orientals, this is a must-have. I just bought it and I’m blown away. The opening hit me hard: it smells very much of saffron and has a pitchy scent, one that sticks to the throat. But after half an hour, it becomes a delight. It’s warm, enveloping, with that spicy saffron touch. Very oriental, unique, and luxurious; it could stand up to Eau de Soir in terms of elegance. The Arabic bottle is a masterpiece and the price is very good. Highly recommended.
