  • There are things you either find or lose forever. You don’t always walk into a perfume shop and spot something unusual by chance, something different from the rest. Escada Pour Homme Light Silver Edition is a softened, fruity flanker of its older brother, Escada Pour Homme; the latter is a refined alpha male that encourages pure hedonism for whoever wears it. Light Silver Edition is an attempt to dial down the testosterone in the original formula to make it suitable for brighter hours, something that, personally, doesn’t make much sense to me if I may say so. However, even though it’s lighter after losing the cognac note, it’s not exactly a summer scent. Its green apple note is sparse and dry, literally ironed out by the rest of the essence notes that define the mother fragrance. It’s a perfume in the style of Kouros or Balenciaga Pour Homme, but I clarify: only in that signature potency, nothing more. Undoubtedly, Light Silver Edition is a great option if you can’t find the base version, as it bears an enormous resemblance. It’s not for everyone, certainly not for young noses or those without the desire to learn and recognize the aesthetic patterns of an era where alpha males were the ones sweating the most and wearing explosive perfumes; without a doubt, Light Silver Edition is one of the last examples of that era, one that I don’t believe will return, for better or worse. Final note: the bottle is simply beautiful, with medium-high longevity and medium projection. A must-have if you collect vintage fragrances!

Light Silver Edition is undoubtedly an effort to dial down the testosterone of the original formula to broaden its use to brighter hours something that personally doesn’t make much sense to me unless I’m allowed to think otherwise. However despite being lighter after losing the cognac note it’s not exactly a summer perfume. Its green apple note is sparse and dry literally steamrolled by the rest of the essence notes that define the mother fragrance. Escada Pour Homme Light Silver Edition is an aromatic, green, fresh, and fruity fragrance. The opening is aromatic, reminiscent of a mint infusion paired with a cold, fruity accord. After the first few minutes, the scent shifts to a floral and aromatic phase that smells like a flower garden, dominated by lavender and jasmine, yet it retains the fruity note that gives it an aquatic feel. The base remains aromatic and aquatic, with a subtle touch of sweetness that seems to be tonka bean combined with patchouli. The fragrance is versatile; I think it could be worn any time of year and at any age, suitable for multiple occasions: hanging out with friends, dates, or office work, as the scent is empathetic and not intrusive. Its longevity on me was about 8 hours, with the first hour being particularly noticeable. I’m not sure if this fragrance is still in production, but the aroma is pleasant and enjoyable. A fragrance that brought back some memories for me was Fendi Acqua, which I know is no longer in production.

Escada Pour Homme Light Silver Edition is an aromatic green fresh and fruity fragrance. Upon opening it smells like a mint infusion with a cool fruity touch. It then transitions into a floral and aromatic phase reminiscent of a lavender and jasmine garden while maintaining that aquatic sensation. The base is aromatic and aquatic with a sweet touch of tonka bean and patchouli. It’s super versatile suitable for any season age or occasion: friends dates or the office without being intrusive. The longevity on me was around 8 hours with the first hour being particularly notable. I’m not sure if it’s still in production but it smells amazing. It reminds me of Fendi Acqua which is no longer available.
