Launched in 2025, this fragrance is a recent work by perfumers Carol Belli and Kosuke Minakata. The opening unfolds the freshness of Italian and green mandarin, accompanied by the spice of pink pepper, the citrus of Italian lemon, and the exotic touch of cardamom. The heart reveals a floral and fruity harmony with lavender, blackberry, mahonia, and the delicate orange blossom. Finally, the base settles into a warm, woody accord featuring immortelle, cedar, heliotrope, amber, Haitian vetiver, almond, benzoin, and vanillin.

I tried it in Milan recently, fresh out of the oven. The opening is glorious—pure summer vibes with a craving for linen and sunglasses—but after a realistic burst of tangerine, it fades and the dry-down hits. The tangerine remains, but it smells much less niche and takes on very typical designer notes. I was told the name comes from an upcycled technique used to extract the oil, which supposedly improves longevity and prevents it from vanishing too quickly. It’s a shame that such an apothecary opening ends up being a perfume that, while good, doesn’t stand out or possess that extreme niche essence or celestial quality; it simply smells nice, but it’s designer. I think the price is way too high (€190). Even if this and others smell great, they don’t pass for me unless they drop to €120 in a moment of madness 😃🍊
