A splurge bought at the Roma train station… I did something risky by trusting only the opening, but fortunately, the rest developed well. As other reviews say, it’s not fresh, warm, or spicy… adding: not aquatic or salty either… well, it’s a little fresh, though don’t expect a blast of freshness. Everything about it is very restrained. It starts green with a citrus touch, then moderates into something more woody. I won’t go into note details because there are things I just don’t know how to describe. The dry down is like a sweet citrus, like lemonade (not sour), with a hint of sugar. It’s an ‘old school’ fragrance but doesn’t smell ‘old.’ I smell it as elegant, same style as Loewe (though the aroma is different). If I’m allowed to be ironic like a reviewer YouTuber: it smells like class and money. It smells expensive. Like someone well-dressed and well-mannered, a true gentleman. In short, a very masculine, clean fragrance, far from current trends but without seeming outdated, and for men who are a bit older.
Released in 2004, it feels like the inspiration for Eau Sauvage EDP but less resinous. I find it a modern scent (despite its classic inspiration) for men aged 35-40 and up.
I get a classic fougère vibe here—elegant and perfect for extreme heat.
A great example of a well-made perfume, proving that classics never go out of style. A very fresh jewel to drench yourself in after a shower on a scorching hot day. It’s a modernized fougère where green notes take center stage, topped with a fresh, limey citrus opening and an aromatic heart of geranium with hints of lily of the valley and white flowers, sitting over a classic base of moss, cedar, and musk. It simply smells incredibly good—high quality and distinct without being groundbreaking. It might remind you of many others, but it has that special touch that sets it apart. If you’re looking for a signature scent that’s uncomplicated, timeless yet not outdated, and will make you look good in any situation, this is it.
