I wore this when I was a teenager; it was a gift and I found it so warm, romantic, feminine, yet mysterious. It’s a shame it’s not available in my country; it brings back great memories of my transition from girl to woman. I’d definitely wear it again. It lingers on your skin just as much as in your memory… rich.
Little info but for years Cachet was a vintage myth and now that I own it I finally understand why. It’s an aromatic floral chypre with that 70s DNA; right after opening it reminds me of the original Miss Dior or Vivre by Molineux. It opens green creamy and aldehydic with galbanum and bergamot—nothing groundbreaking for its generation. But as it settles an incredible vetiver vibrates from within one of the best I’ve ever tried. Aromatic bold and well-crafted with moss and musk in perfect balance that adds real depth. I have to praise the nose: the notes intertwine without chaos or disruption something hard to find these days. It has an animalic side but not overpowering; it was born for all women to wear and project something distinct. Slightly spicy and wet with patchouli just enough to not overshadow that magnificent vetiver. The florals are there but Cachet prioritizes the beauty of its woods and green mosses. And what about the leather? It’s not loud but adds complexity without stealing the show; here you can tell the vetiver isn’t alone—there’s something more robust behind that spicy green base hinting at its presence. It’s exquisite almost masculine on its sweet side yet so well-made with such realistic and exquisite materials that it’s for everyone and deserves admiration from everyone. Why assign a gender to a vetiver or green moss like this? My review is for the vintage Eau de Toilette splash.
