Descripción

Bentley for Men by Bentley is a spicy oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2013, this composition was created by perfumer Nathalie Lorson. Its top notes unfold with laurel leaf, black pepper, and bergamot; the heart reveals rum, cinnamon, woody notes, and clary sage; while the base settles on leather, benzoin, patchouli, and cedar.

I tried it yesterday and it reminds me a lot of Xeryus Rouge by Givenchy. A good distinctive and different aroma… I think I’ll buy it.

  • Rum, cinnamon, and wood: those are the clear notes. The Intense has many praises (I haven’t tried it), but this one I absolutely loved. It lasts over 10 hours on skin in cold weather. I imagine performance increases with higher temperatures, and the projection is acceptable for the first 4 hours. For the price, it’s a steal: it performs a lot and is all-terrain, suitable for day and night, all year round. The nose is Natalie Lorson, the same as Encre Noire. Bentley for Men has nothing to do with Encre Noire, except that both have outstanding quality-to-price ratios.

  • I’d turn it around and call it an Oriental Spiced fragrance. What a beast this Bentley is. I’d never tried it until yesterday, and wow… It’s an explosion of rum-soaked leather, cinnamon, pepper, and benzoin. It smells more like benzoin to me than incense. It reminds me a lot of Armaf’s Oud, but more ordinary and loud. It’s in the line of Opium EDP but more for a younger crowd. I love bold scents, but this one felt suffocating to me quickly. I don’t know if it’s the climate or if it just doesn’t suit me, but I wouldn’t use it because it overwhelms me. It lasts over 16 hours: 4 hours with heavy sillage, 6 moderate, then drops to skin scent. I don’t find similarities with Dior’s Fahrenheit Le Parfum or Gucci’s Envy; for me, it’s more like Armaf Oud and Opium EDP.

  • Same DNA as the Intense: exquisite woody liquor, adult and elegant. The Bentley For Men line reflects the brand: quality, class, maturity, and elegance. It always delivers 100%. Unlike the Intense, it’s lighter and more versatile, even for spring nights. A great option for business or the office; you project class and good taste. Longevity over 12 hours with excellent sillage at a Seat price.

  • jerry drake

It’s a noble fragrance that stands out among others in its range and even superior ones. It lasts 6 hours with moderate projection. It’s more delicate than the Intense, less boozy, with a sweet and pleasant leather, balanced and wearable during the day. It’s little known and a pity, offering so much for its price. It’s elegant and classy, less overwhelming than the Intense, which shares about 70% of its characteristics. It’s a high-level alternative to advertised and expensive products. If the Intense is for special occasions, this is the ideal Bentley for everyday life.

  • I don’t know how a Bentley Continental smells, but I imagine it smells like this perfume: leather and rum with a touch of cinnamon. The bottle is delightful, inspired by car controls, especially the cap which reminds me of the start button. It captivated me without even trying, since the Intense overwhelmed me before. I bought it at a department store where the scents are intensified. I decided to try it based on the reviews and that magical touch of old barbershop soap it has. On my dry skin, with 4 sprays, it lasted 8 hours smelling all day, which I appreciate because I don’t notice I’m wearing it until I apply it. Sometimes it reminds me of mixing Opium and Obsession by CK, but more sophisticated and less overpowering than Obsession, enhanced in the dry down by that old soap vibe. I’ll keep testing more Bentley options.

  • Waking up, I smell a sweet, enveloping, balsamic scent—very feminine yet sensual. When I smelled my dryer sheets, I realized it was them. The scent on the sheet is minimal, but waking up to it is fantastic and dreamlike, like a silky veil with spices and incense, sweet and creamy. After testing it against the Intense, I stuck with this one: more sillage and longevity. The story is that I sleep with dryer sheets and one day noticed that sweet, warm scent, like the light of dawn in an orchard. It’s incredible how a perfume can evoke that. There are no fruits, but the alcohol note reminds me of dried grapes. It’s fantastic, with one of the best dry downs I own, well-balanced and with good longevity. Despite not noticing the bergamot, there’s a hint of laurel that makes it feel masculine. In its dry down, many women would try it because the leather is creamy, not macho-men. It’s versatile, intimate, perfect for elegant dinners or close-to-skin wear. Romantic, almost like VA Midnight in Paris.

Who would have thought a car brand could make something this good and affordable? Bentley for Men is spectacular, evolves beautifully on the skin, and smells like pure luxury. I recommend buying it blindly; given the price, you can’t lose.

  • sonicardo

I bought it blindly out of curiosity and the reviews, and I absolutely love the box and bottle. However, the scent is too strong; it smells like pure rum and wood. I can’t see how I’d use it and I don’t get why people find it pleasant.

  • Bought blind, very happy. Rum, cinnamon, and leather—I think it’s ideal for cold weather. What about those car companies that make such good perfumes?

  • I first heard about it from YouTubers talking about the Intense, but once I tried it, I was blown away. The rum scent is incredibly seductive and masculine; it’s not subtle at first and might not appeal to everyone, but it has an exclusive vibe. It doesn’t last as long as the Intense, but it still lasts a good few hours. I see it as ideal for a Caribbean setting or hangouts with friends, though I’d avoid it for a first date.

  • Pure rum opening, but the good kind, not the one I used to drink at 16. Then it tames down and leaves an incredibly refined dry-down. I don’t have the Intense version because it felt too one-note, but who knows; anyway, this one is perfectly valid for the office.

  • I was quite surprised; it smells great and that rum gives it a special touch. Next time, I might try the Intense.

  • Escamilla

Bentley for Men is a quite serious and rich fragrance, regardless of its notes and ingredients. It’s a ‘dry’ aroma, sweet, rum (alcohol), deep spice, and woods—that’s what I perceive. CLASS: 9.2/10 ELEGANCE: 8.9/10 VERSATILITY: 4/10 MATURITY: 9.5/10 QUALITY: 8.7/10 BOTTLE: 9/10 SCENT: 9.3/10 LONGEVITY: 8.5/10 TRAIL: 8/10 PRICE: 10/10.

  • I first grabbed the Intense version because of the hype. The problem is that my girlfriend, even though she loved it, got a headache after a few hours. So I switched to this eau de toilette and the problem is solved. As many have said, this one is more balanced. Both are excellent; they’re 90% the same, but the Intense has an ‘enormous’ trail with just 2 sprays and the rum dominates. With this (toillete), 3 sprays give a moderate trail, while 5 are heavy, and the leather and cinnamon feel equal to the rum. Longevity is just as good, about 24 hours on skin. To conclude, although bergamot is listed last in the notes, I feel it’s very present during the first hour.

  • Cascadatomford

Let me say that this fragrance disappointed me at first, and I’ll explain why. I bought it blind after seeing good reviews from users and YouTubers. My first impression seeing the box and bottle was very positive; everything looked well presented. When I opened the cap and sprayed it, I got the first blast and felt that scent was very familiar. For a while, I used M7 by Yves Saint Laurent, and the first notes of this perfume seemed too similar to it—I made the mistake of not applying it to my skin thinking it was practically the same. Honestly, after that, I put it away for a while. A few days later, I wanted to give it another chance and applied it. The first notes remind me a lot of M7, but then it evolves into a masterpiece once it dries. This is where its true personality shines; it becomes a soft, slightly sweet, very seductive aroma. At that moment, it’s for close-range wear; it releases a clean, friendly, and slightly sweet scent, with some feminine touches and very romantic. Honestly, the final trail on my skin has won me over. Highly recommended for the price it’s worth.

  • It’s the softer sibling of Bentley Intense. It smells very similar but more subtle since it’s an EDT, more for personal enjoyment than for others since it doesn’t have a huge trail, but it has great longevity. On clothes, it can last for days. It’s more versatile than the Intense; you can wear it any day and time as long as it’s not too hot. I give it an 8.5/10.

  • I bought it blind and at first, it didn’t do anything for me, but over the days I started to decipher it. The opening is super complex, with that uncommon leather that evolves into a sweet, masculine scent—not the typical vanilla of today, but with a bitter base. I recommend it for men 25 and up, for semi-formal or formal outings; it has low versatility. Even though it’s an EDT, the trail is brutal, and more than 4 sprays give me a headache. Ideal for cold weather and freezing nights; I imagine it with a shirt or leather jacket—in fact, the smell soaked into my jacket more than a month ago. I don’t recommend buying it blind because it can be too complex for some and lingers on clothes for days; if you don’t like it, the scent suffocates you. If I had to summarize it in one word: elegant.

  • I bought it blind just based on the comments and videos, and I loved it. My first impression made me flip out, but I bought it today and I still need to see how it evolves. I’ll share my full experience soon.

  • I bought it blind based on reviews, but it was a bust at home. Notes of rum, leather, wood, laurel, bergamot, and cinnamon… only a bloodhound can detect them. To me, it just smells like incense sticks. If you like that scent and want to smell like it all day (because it lasts all day), buy it. If not, don’t even think about it. I regret buying it.

  • I bought it months ago in autumn-winter and didn’t like it at first; it wasn’t my type. But yesterday and today in spring I tried it again and found it better. It still hits hard at first, but the dry-down is amazing—it moves away from that typical vanilla sweetness I hate. Brutal performance: the first hour floods the room with 4 sprays and leaves a noticeable trail. After an hour it fades but remains noticeable for 5 or 6 hours, sticking to the skin for a hard 10 hours and lasting days on clothes. I’m not one to pigeonhole, but this has a formal or ‘bad boy’ vibe, ideal with a leather jacket on a motorcycle. The magic of olfactory memory.

  • N. Lorson’s creations are on another level. If the Encre Noir trilogy was a masterpiece, Bentley doesn’t fall short. This isn’t a clone of the Intense; it’s more versatile and less invasive. Both are hard to judge which wins, but this one is definitely a ‘buy blind’ pick. You can even wear it in spring in Chile. Decent projection and longevity. I’d buy it again. For men over 30.

  • aarroyo73

To be brief: strong, masculine, long-lasting. Watch out with the sprays; not everyone will like it, but it’s fantastic and affordable.

  • Under 40s abstain. It smells very similar to the Intense, almost identical once dry. Maybe the Intense comes out more alcoholic, but they equalize afterward. It’s for formal events, for made men who can sip a cognac without blinking. The sweetness makes it addictive, but measure your sprays or you’ll suffocate. Not very versatile, winter only. Quality far exceeds its price. The bottle is gorgeous, mimicking the car’s button panel.

  • It’s a strong, fortified, woody fragrance with incredible longevity and projection. It’s exquisite.

  • I bought it when it was cheap in Argentina; prices have skyrocketed everywhere now. The scent took some getting used to; I thought about selling it, but over time I understood it. It’s for cold weather and informal wear. Good longevity and projection.

  • JavierSantana

Sorry for the tone, but this perfume is absolute fire. It opens with a weak citrus sparkle that highlights a complex, animalic leather from the oud, like freshly tanned hides. It has spices, rum with honey, fruits, and a touch of resinous benzoin. It’s dry, leathery, and boozy, with barrel-aged woods. Buy blind? Only if you love leather or spirits. If you’re looking for something sweet and easy, stay away. It’s great for dates if you know how to dress and carry yourself with class. It won’t get you free compliments, but if you smell good and act well, people will notice. Not for the office or summer. Worth it, though the Intense is smokier. I prefer this regular one; it’s more tamed and versatile. Nathalie Lorson and Lalique really nailed it here. It’s better than Dior or Armani and costs half as much. The bottle is a luxury Lalique crystal. It’s the last Coca-Cola of the desert. Save Bentley. Imagine Daniel Craig in a trench coat, leather gloves, and a glass of liquor.

  • Not for kids or those who prefer sweet fragrances… it has incredible projection and longevity. In my case, I prefer it to the Intense version, which feels too overwhelming to me. It’s a tremendous perfume.

  • Bertrand Tupra

Bentley for Men is intense, almost ethereal due to that strong rum note that defines it. If you over-spray, it smells like you just chugged a whole bottle at first. But an hour later, the woods and leather balance it out, making it sensual. In the dry-down, a distinct rum sweetness remains. Projection and sillage are brutal if you don’t overdo it. It’s for parties, bars, or confident dates—nothing for the office. It’s masculine, though some women might like it. The Intense version is a nuclear bomb, nearly impossible to handle.

  • Marco_Solar

After about a month of use: Unpleasant smell for the masses, the rum lasts about half an hour, then it’s like smelling laurel, with fresh spices and something sweet. Longevity 8-10h on skin, projection isn’t the beast they say, not even close, sillage neither. Intimate to moderate power perfume. To use semi-formal in transition seasons (not recommended in winter, the scent is ‘subtle’, ‘volatile’, I don’t know how to explain it, but since it’s not dense, nothing is appreciated, no sillage, no projection). Approx cost 30 dollars. Totally worth it. More than that… it shouldn’t cost. The Intense is better, I’ll review that one next.

  • JavierSantana

The truth is, this perfume has the best liquor note on the market. That rum is unmatched, composed of aldehydes, fruity notes, acetates, plum, peach, honey… The leather is perceived as new leather, musty, well-tanned. Fine woods, like from a liquor barrel. Fresh bergamot and laurel, juicy, a fine natural patchouli, sublime amber, a somewhat synthetic but ultimately brutal cinnamon, amazing… Regarding the previous comment, made lightly: I don’t see why it wouldn’t be attractive to the masses, but I understand why people think so: they are scents far from current trends, where everything smells like dessert, grape gum, or metallic citrus. Bentley For Men transports us to a shoe store where a worker takes a drink right before closing. The Intense isn’t better either, it depends on the context: if you want brute power, beast mode, I recommend the Intense. If you want the same DNA but a thousand times more versatile and not so aggressive or heavy, the EDT. And no, don’t expect the EDT to project like the Intense. As my namesake Don Javier Orgaz would say, perfume isn’t necessarily to project a line like Pepe Le Pew… And frankly, even if it cost 70 USD, they’d be worth it. (Don’t expect the EDT to last less than the Intense, they last the same but Intense projects more and is heavier).

  • MaximoRV

Rich perfume and in my humble opinion, it has nothing to envy from the Intense. This one wins in versatility thanks to that lower rum note. A great masculine fragrance in any way, for cold seasons. The leather, rum, and cinnamon make it addictive. 7-8h longevity and projecting well for the first 2 hours. Highly recommended, but not for blind buying. Rating: 8.8/10.

  • Daniipntr

Tested on a decant. Surprised me for the better. I had zero expectations because I thought it would fall into something simple sweet and uninteresting, and yet, it’s a sweet but elegant, formal, masculine, and mature scent. I wouldn’t use it in summer, but it’s ideal for wearing a suit, well-dressed, to events in winter, fall, and spring nights. Looking forward to trying the Intense version, which has to be a bomb.

  • Another magnificent proposal by Nathalie Lorson, along with her Encre Noire (both from Lalique) form the dynamic duo of Notino. They should sell them in a pack. I bought the For Men version blind because I read the Intense was too strong and less versatile, despite both smelling the same. This one is strong, just in the opening, which reminds of the classic YSL Opium from the 70s, which is why they say it smells like an older lady’s perfume. The similarity doesn’t last, don’t worry. In the dry-down, it transforms into a very wearable and modern sweet, with an air of Daarej by Rasasi (a copy of Valentino V). A sweet rum, nothing alcoholic, starring alongside cinnamon and cedar. I expected something stranger and more challenging given its fame, and for nothing. It doesn’t smell like a drunkard or old; I think it’s less versatile than they say. I find it more enjoyable for afternoon/evening in fall. It’s totally away from current trends, I don’t think anyone smells like you. Good longevity, about 7h with 4 sprays, maybe doesn’t project much (a positive thing for me). I paid 16€, it’s worth infinitely more. Buy it blind, what else does it matter at that price?

  • naso_en_ciernes

Warm, mature, masculine. To wear in fall and winter, maybe cold spring, at night. It’s the Man in Black style, but more liquorish and cozy, they aren’t the same, don’t hate me the fans of that Bvlgari, but Bentley for Men has a lot of what was lost in the aromatic cut of the Bvlgari version and should never have been removed. I’m talking about the style, not a one-to-one comparison. Bentley is attractive, a perfume that should cost more, especially given the rumors of a price drop for the more hyped INTENSE version. Liquorish, woody, but not cloying, well-balanced. A perfume with these notes could fall into excessive intensity, but I think the perfumer did their job. I even see it on female skin, which shows how well-structured it is; it’s not unisex either. I recommend trying it and owning it, don’t let it get discontinued in favor of its brother Intense, the bestseller. It’s more versatile, even more economical. Usable in cold, day and night; I see the Intense more for night owls looking for something dense but that can get tiring if used repeatedly. Low point: performance and projection are just, or rather, what one would want to enjoy a tasty aroma.

  • A masterpiece. At 14-18€ on Notino, it’s the best value for money on the market. It has evolution, lasts 24h+ on clothes, and projects easily for 2 hours. The dry-down is addictive. Sweet honeyed tone with a good rum alcoholic kick, without smelling like a drunkard. Distills class and good taste. For all ages in fall, winter, spring, and summer nights. What a gem.

  • Unlike the Intense, the opening is fresher thanks to the citrus notes being more apparent, making it more versatile and wearable. The rum and leather play out in full glory, with nuances of patchouli and spicy touches. It doesn’t have much evolution and the dry-down happens in 20 minutes, staying linear until time passes and two washes of the shirt remove the scent. Excellent projection and sillage, fills a room for hours; if you leave clothes there, you’ll smell them for days. I recommend controlling the sprays to enjoy it and not get suffocated.

  • It’s weird. When I smell it, my breathing opens up (I have climate allergies) like with Vicks, mint, or eucalyptus, but it doesn’t smell like those things. It feels familiar, slightly sweet, fresh, and alcoholic. It’s masculine without being rough, with a hint of a hospital or clinic vibe (it doesn’t actually smell like that, just an association from the rum). It’s complex, maybe more than it lets on. I think the issue is I don’t know what to use it for; it doesn’t connect with my personality. It has little evolution. It’s for fall/winter (or cold weather), not too warm, a fresh-warm balance. For an adult, 25+, with a defined personality. 100% masculine without being coarse, elegant. The rum dominates but isn’t excessive (alcoholic note), accompanied by wood, pepper, and a faint touch of cinnamon. I don’t detect any citrus. Good longevity, low projection and sillage, it’s a personal bubble scent, don’t over-spray. It’s not rich or unpleasant, it’s interesting and creates intrigue when smelled, that’s the personality I’m trying to discover (I found it easier with Bentley Absolute). It depends on you making it shine to get compliments. In the end, I gifted it to my dad; it took him a while to accept it on his nose, it’s just my thing with perfumes lol. If you know these profiles, it could be great. It’s not a bad fragrance, just those liquor notes don’t work for my nose. I tried them on a Givenchy too and it was difficult, a bit less so because it lacked cinnamon, but it’s consistent that I don’t connect with rum or warm/sweet liquor notes.

  • JavierSantana

Took this out of my collection. No joke, it’s niche quality. The opening is pathetic. At this price point (50€ in Mexico, should be 25-30€) and in this category, I’d rather go for Essentiel Elixir, Natura, Avon Segno Original, Black Suede Intense, Banderas The Icon, Jafra Absolute Leather, or Yves Rocher Ambre Noir. Even Axe Leather and Cookies smell better. Blessings.
