Top notes… I haven’t tried the Altahïr by PM, but this one smells great; I suppose the original wins on quality. As for this one: the opening is very cinnamon with a fleeting citrus touch of orange blossom; soon the vanilla and the resinous elemi come through. Throughout the dry down, you get spiced vanilla from the cardamom, with a sweet, chocolatey praline note deep in the background. I give it 8.6/10 because the vanilla feels a bit synthetic and dirty, if you will. I’d prefer more citrus at the start… But it delivers.
