About Aromatic d’Azur
Aromatic d’Azur by Salum Parfums: A Salty Pinewood Escape
Aromatic d’Azur is a new aromatic aquatic fragrance from Salum Parfums, created for both women and men. It enters the market in 2026 with an unusual blend of forest and sea.
The composition is signed by perfumer Sofia Bardelli, who balances fresh top notes with deeper, warmer base accords.
The opening is bright and sharp: bergamot and cardamom introduce a citrusy, fresh-spicy spark, while pine adds a resinous, woodland edge. It immediately feels like standing between a coastal forest and the sea.
In the heart, cypress and pine nuts reinforce the woody character, while ylang-ylang introduces a soft yellow-floral sweetness. Marine notes keep the composition aquatic and breezy, without turning soapy or overly salty.
The base rests on sandalwood, cedar and amber. These give the scent a smooth, slightly powdery warmth that lingers on skin. The overall effect is balanced between aromatic freshness and comfortable, woody depth.
According to Salum Parfums, the fragrance belongs to the aromatic aquatic family, with accords ranging from woody and warm-spicy to citrus, floral and powdery. It is a multifaceted scent that can be worn across seasons.
The fragrance currently holds an average rating of 3 out of 5 based on 19 ratings. That score suggests it leans toward niche tastes rather than conventional fresh releases.
This will appeal to anyone who likes unisex aquatic scents with a distinct forest character, especially those who enjoy marine notes tempered by wood and soft spice.
Aromatic d’Azur is not a typical summer cologne. It is a thoughtful, slightly experimental mix of sea breeze and pine, best suited to wearers who want a fragrance that feels both open-air and grounded.

It’s a bit abstract. To start with, it doesn’t smell like summer, or the Mediterranean, or the French Riviera. It has no scent of pine, pine nuts, or sea, as promised. (As always, the notes here don’t match those officially declared by the house.) It’s simply a chemical blend of semi-sweet, amber-like molecules with hints of nuts that, I’m quite sure, no one would consider fresh or summery if it were launched with a white label. At least it doesn’t smell bad, but to me it’s a fairly mediocre release, an abstract experiment with chemicals to see what comes out.
