About Арбат (Arbat)

Arbat: A 1970s Woody Aromatic with Old-School Charm

Арбат (Arbat) by Nueva Zarya (The New Dawn) is a woody aromatic fragrance for men that launched in the 1970s.

It opens bright with citrus and herbs, then settles into a drier mix of woods, oakmoss and musk.

The top brings together mandarin and bergamot with lavender and sage. The effect is fresh, green and a little citrusy, very much in the aromatic style of that decade.

The middle adds pepper, patchouli and violet leaves. The pepper stays dry, while the leafy, earthy side keeps things lean with no real sweetness.

The base combines sandalwood, oakmoss, amber and musk. It turns warmer and powdery, with that mossy-woody backbone holding everything in place.

Overall it reads citrusy, herbal and aromatic up front, then woody, mossy and gently spiced. The mood is neat and practical rather than rich or heavy.

Rated 3.66 out of 5 from 50 ratings, it works best as a discovery for fans of vintage greens and historic perfumery.

It will suit men who like classic lavender-sage greens, violet leaf, oakmoss and sandalwood, plus collectors curious about 1970s scents.

Arbat is a straightforward period piece: green, dry and mossy, and a good way to explore the no-frills house style of Nueva Zarya.
