More fruity, clean, and pleasant than Ganymede. Between the two, Akigala wins my vote, though neither is truly my style.

When I first tried Akigala Mandarino, I was surprised by the blend of juicy citrus freshness with the dark, spicy, woody character of Akigalawood. On my skin, it lasts about 7 to 8 hours, with strong projection at first before settling into a more intimate but always present scent. I especially enjoy it in warm and temperate climates; it’s ideal for daily or casual wear, though I wouldn’t call it a party night fragrance. What I love most is its distinctive, modern aroma that stands out from conventional citrus. However, the Akigalawood can feel synthetic, so I definitely don’t recommend buying it blind. Overall, it’s a bold, fresh, contemporary fragrance I’ve really enjoyed since getting it.

This smells like an industrial hit made to break charts: if Ganymede and Pacific Chill had a child, this would be it. It took the bright, elegant part of the first, leaving the leather and saffron behind. From the second, it grabbed the tropical bouquet minus the sweet dry-down and the mint/basil top notes. The result is a tropical fruit explosion (passfruit is missing from the notes) that doesn’t smell like the ‘summer hummer’ perfumes with their chemical dry-down, but instead features a base of Akigalawood—that abstract, elegant heart of Ganymede. It projects like an angry Christ and leaves a trail that breaks necks (at least to my nose). The bottle and box are too simplistic for 160€ for 50ml; that’s just 3.20€/ml, but I bought it. In winter, the fruit notes are barely noticeable; in summer or with heat, it explodes in a super colorful, bright way, though it can be overwhelming if overapplied. And watch out—it doesn’t smell like tangerine, so that’s just marketing. Awesome.
