Since there were no reviews, I’m the first. I was looking for the line because I wanted Jack of Clubs for its inspiration from YSL La Nuit de L’Homme Bleu Électrique, and this is the Ace. I was blown away at first, though I haven’t used it much due to my country’s bipolar weather; it will surely shine in winter. After months, I notice it smells different: initially, it’s a rare sweet, like boozy chestnuts with cinnamon; now it’s burnt wood with very prominent chestnuts—a unique, semi-bittersweet delight. If you buy it, don’t hesitate. This line took months of waiting for me and is worth it; A, J, and Q stand out. I didn’t like Kaiser; it smells like juicy mango at first, but dry down is herbal, like stale grass or weed. Give the perfume time; it’s an uncommon sweet: not a typical warm gourmand, but a unique sensation of woody wood with subtle boozy touches, lots of chestnut and vanilla. It’s addictive.
Best bang for your buck. The bottle and packaging are gorgeous, and it even comes with playing cards as a gift. It smells like sweet wood with vanilla, reminding me of Chilean Easter bread. For the price and the aroma, I definitely recommend it.
I love the opening scent, though I’m not sure if I’ll stick with it after wearing it repeatedly. It smells like burnt caramel with acidic fruit, warm and totally unique; I’ve never heard anything like it. It’s not ugly; it’s curious, and I think I’ll absolutely fall in love with it over time.
At first, it smells like cloves and burnt sweetness, but as it dries down, the boozy notes take over. It’s very unisex but leans slightly more feminine. The box comes with cards, which is a quirky detail. The price is top-notch and the longevity is great. I don’t know much about By the Fireplace, but regarding this Ace, I’d say I wouldn’t use it; it just lacks masculinity.
Perfect for looking elegant to a meeting or dinner; it has those flamboyant, sweet vanilla touches that are absolutely captivating. It lasts strong for about 7 to 8 hours, and at $50, it’s insane—I’m giving it 9.5/10 for quality and price.
