Ondine by Written on Water is a floral fragrance for women and men launched in 2024 and created by perfumer Frank Voelkl.
Built around the idea of moving water, it pairs a bright citrus-marine opening with a white-flower heart and a soft, mossy drydown.
The opening brings together bergamot, caviar and juniper berry. Bergamot gives citrus lift, the caviar accord adds a salty, aquatic edge, and juniper brings a green, lightly resinous aromatic touch.
At the heart, jasmine sambac (sampaguita) leads, supported by neroli and orchid. It is a luminous white bouquet, soapy and gently sweet, but kept light rather than heavy.
The base rests on musk, oakmoss and Ambroxan Super. Musk softens the trail with a powdery, clean feel, oakmoss adds green-earthy depth, and Ambroxan gives a smooth mineral warmth.
