Mourner's Path by Benneviento, launched in 2025, is a woody oriental fragrance made for men and women. It pairs ritual calm with untamed texture from the first spray.
Incense, resin and smoke lead the way, settling into earth and animal tones. It is dense and reflective, built in layers rather than bright flashes.
The opening brings incense, rubber, davana, saffron, tobacco, pine and animal notes. Incense sets a solemn tone, pine and rubber add a dark resinous edge, while saffron and tobacco warm the blend. The animal facet lingers underneath.
The center features cannabis, dew drop, coffee, raspberry, cinnamon, smoke and gunpowder. Coffee and cinnamon give spiced body, raspberry adds a brief fruity lift, and smoke with gunpowder brings a dry, mineral sharpness. The dew-drop note keeps it from feeling heavy throughout.
The drydown rests on amber, oud wood, guaiac wood, ambroxan, ambrettolide, vetiver, geosmin, earthy notes, civet and amberwood. Damp earth, deep wood and a powdery musk wrap the composition without fully softening it.
Overall it reads woody, smoky, ambery and openly animalic, with hints of rubber, tobacco and oud. The progression feels like a slow walk from chapel air into forest soil.
