Minya by PARIS CORNER

It’s Cheirosa 62 by Sol de Janeiro but in perfume format. I picked it up because I had the mist and felt bad that it lasted so short, and someone recommended it to me. It’s practically the same, with slight differences: Minya is a bit fresher, and in the dry down you notice a green touch and a hint of spice. The 62 is more decadent and warm but doesn’t last at all. Minya has brutal longevity, especially on clothes. I love wearing it outdoors because when the wind blows, the fragrance lifts, dilutes, and reveals amazing notes. It’s hard to explain, try it with the wind and you’ll see. Given how cheap it is, it’s worth it. If you’re looking for a dupe of the 62 that lasts longer, look no further, this is it. It’s wearable, more for something casual, grocery shopping, a relaxed outing, or going to the beach. Literally Cheirosa 62 but a bit fresher and more potent.

It’s a cologne, because nowadays everything is called perfume; it’s more of an Eau de Toilette. It smells good but doesn’t last at all, and that’s why it’s not that economical; cheap comes expensive in this case. However, I have others from Paris Corner like Taasken Caramel that are very much worth it.

It’s a rich and sweet gourmand, in my opinion some very creamy nuts. I was scared by the pistachio note, since it’s the first one in my collection of that note, but it didn’t bother me. I bought it after months of having acquired the Cocolush, and between the two, the Cocolush still tastes better to me. The opening smells totally like Capri de Almendra (those from Chile will understand), but after 10-20 minutes the strong almond lowers its potency and wraps around the creaminess. I don’t notice any of the floral notes that are declared. The trail is moderate, 1 to 2 hours, longevity on my skin is a good 6 hours, and from the 2 or 3 hours it sits well close to the skin. I don’t find it overwhelming to the point of not using it in summer, but definitely it’s not a fresh aroma for a hot day. Anyway, I see it for any time of year and I don’t know if I’ll repurchase once it runs out.

This perfume is excessively similar to the first Yara, the light pink one. If I had known, I wouldn’t have bought it. It’s delicious, but it’s redundant having both.

It seems like a very nice perfume, but I wouldn’t pay much for it. Comparing it to other Arab perfumes, I find the quality isn’t as good. First, the opening is very alcoholic and stays that way for a while. Second, it doesn’t last much more than 2 hours. But everything in between I like. Someone compared it to a bag of salted almonds and I largely agree, only that I like it. I mainly sense almonds, salt, and a very sweet vanilla. I don’t find the floral aspect. It’s fun, casual, young, gourmand, but with some quality issues. It resembles the Cher Mix pistachio a lot, which must be another dupe of Cheirosa 62.

I don’t know if it’s because of the bottle color, but I smell what we in Mexico call chocoreta. The almond and caramel feel good combined, accentuated by the vanilla base, but still it doesn’t feel like a gourmand, because this combo is cemented and well-defined by the heart flowers. Associated with the feminine profile due to the aroma, but if you’re a man don’t be shy using it either.

According to what I read, Minya is basically the perfume version of the famous Sol de Janeiro mist… and yes, it is. But watch out: it’s not for summer use like you would do with the mist. The first hit is pure alcohol, so strong it almost makes you sneeze in stereo. On a 35°C or hotter day, you risk suffocating yourself… and everyone around you. It’s a heavy perfume, and that even though I let it ‘mature’ for a month before trying it again again. I see it more for autumn, winter, or spring. In summer, better to spare people (and your respiratory tract) that impact 😅. When it settles, the almond aroma takes the lead, and the truth is it’s very rich… but be careful: a couple of sprays are enough. More, and you could go from ‘delicious fragrance’ to ‘portable chemical weapon’.

I’ve been waiting months for this little perfume to arrive in Chile, and finally it did! I was intrigued by the claim that it resembles Cheirosa 62, so I bought it for that reason: I was looking for something with the scent of a body mist but with the longevity of a real perfume. I just have to say, I love it! It’s very creamy, sweet, and warm; exquisite to me. I sense a similarity to Sol de Janeiro’s scent but with a stronger almond note. All I need to test now is the longevity and sillage, but based on what I’ve enjoyed so far, I’m thrilled.

It smells very much of almond and that’s mainly its opening, very potent and sometimes overwhelming. As it dries down, it’s a wonder. They compare it to Sol de Janeiro’s 62 mist, and honestly, I find it even richer. It’s very potent and projects a lot; don’t over-spray or you might kill someone if you’re in shared indoor spaces. It lasts about 10 hours on skin and on clothes, you don’t even need to count. Overall, I like it a lot; right now I’m using it to layer with other tropical/fruity fragrances with notes like coconut, pear, or apple. But in autumn-winter, I’ll use it on its own.
