Wet, fresh, herbal, and elegant: that’s exactly how this Moss + from Commodity Fragrances feels. It’s getting harder and harder to find something that truly stands out in the niche world; every time I hit a trade show or travel, I run into the same thing—almost everything smells the same, and prices, even for emerging brands, are insane. Everyone wants to get rich quick, but Commodity isn’t one of them. It’s an American house that, as far as I know, went bankrupt years ago only to rise again with a fresh aesthetic, distinct fragrances, and growing hype across North America. Moss + is one of my favorites: crisp and cool, featuring moss and juniper berries as the stars, creating something versatile, masculine, and easy to wear. While it has a slight fougère vibe, I think it’s a modern scent that fits what we’re looking for today: smelling different, current, energetic, and distinctive. I tested it at Scentxplore 2025 in New York and believe it was one of the best discoveries I made; the retail price is more than reasonable. Highly recommended!

Definitely, this (+) version smells very masculine to me. It’s rich, woody, and has a wet earth note in the dry down. It’s raining here, and I feel it’s perfect for this weather, but I’d prefer to wear it on my partner or my father rather than on a woman. On the other hand, the more personal (-) version is fresher and unisex, keeping that forest walk vibe. It lasted about 3-4 hours on my skin. The initial spray was strong and dry, but after 2 or 3 hours, it turned fresher and musky. I won’t wear it myself, but it’s a great gift for a man between 40 and 60.

On the other hand, the more personal (-) version is definitely fresher and unisex, keeping that forest walk-through-the-mist vibe. It lasted about 3-4 hours on my skin. The initial spray was strong and dry, but after 2 or 3 hours, it softened into something fresher with a musk undertone. I won’t wear it myself, but it would make a great gift for a man between 40 and 60.
