It’s the best cheap gourmand out there. The moment I smelled it, I thought: ‘That’s the Alaska and Mario one!’ I loved it and kept repurchasing until they pulled it from the market, but thank God this is the same scent with even more longevity. It’s super-sweet, sugary, and warm vanilla. If you’re into gourmands or vanilla scents, you absolutely need this. The only downside is the atomizer—I’ve seen other reviews mention they often come defective—but I still recommend keeping it as your everyday go-to.

I read the notes and thought it would be sweet with a fresh, floral touch… so I bought it blind, foolishly, expecting a light vanilla. While the opening is fresh and soft, within a minute it turns into a heavy vanilla smell with plastic and burnt nuances, totally artificial, flooding everything. I wore it all afternoon yesterday and it became unbearable. I didn’t detect the sandalwood, violet, or jasmine… nothing, just a smell of burnt plastic. I do like vanilla, and if it had smelled soft, creamy, and natural, I would have been satisfied even without the other ingredients. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened. The good stuff: the bottle is pretty, the price is fantastic, and the longevity and sillage are solid.

This is the first numbered fragrance from V&L that really piques my interest. The new releases (vanilla, amber, and orchid, though the latter two aren’t in the database yet) show better execution, with more noticeable sillage, longevity, and development. Although they’re still eau de toilettes, they last quite well, around 4 hours. I’d rate the scent as a light gourmand, very soft: slightly artificial vanilla with plastic-like nuances balanced by a woody base that tames the excess sugar. For vanilla addicts, this could be a summer option since it’s not too heavy, though it’s not the essence of naturalness either. Finally, the quantity-quality-price ratio is good: 150ml for about €12.
