Tim Gage

Tim found perfumery by chance; after studying chemistry, his dream had always been to become a paleontologist, but he realized it wasn’t the lifestyle he wanted. So, when a professor asked him if he was interested in a job as an assistant perfumer, Tim accepted to see if it would work as a good “temporary job” before finding his true calling. Soon, he realized that perfumery was far more interesting than he had imagined at first, and, 36 years later, he still finds the role fascinating. Tim has worked across many departments during his time in the industry; from regulation and quality control to formulation management, all of which have helped him develop a deeper understanding of such matters in his current position within the perfumery team. Tim is a key member of the natural ingredients team and has great knowledge of raw materials. The team evaluates new ingredients and ensures they are of the best quality for our clients. When it comes to ingredients, Tim has a favorite for each day of the week, one of them being Kashmir Fusion, as it combines the rich, smooth and comforting feel of Cashmeran with the power and vibrancy of Amber Extreme, plus some wood. Outside of fragrances, Tim is an enthusiastic photographer and sees it as a way to inspire himself, linking the composition of a scene with the creation of a fragrance. His photographic work can often be seen around the office at Innovation House.
