Nothing classic or vintage here. I bought it because the note blend seemed unique. In the West, we moved from the dense 80s perfumes to 90s florals, and now minimalism; I wondered if the Arab market had a similar evolution. I picked up this ‘Vintage Classic’ expecting old leather and a green recreation, but what’s the Arab equivalent? Musk and spices. The leather note is interesting and has evolved a lot: from the dirty, bright, masculine leather of GB Hills or Aramis to modern suede-like leathers close to tobacco and sweet, like Tuscan Leather or La Yuqawam. This is a soft leather, somewhere between Trussardi’s realistic take and Gucci’s hyper-realistic one. It’s adorned with very subtle cinnamon, vanilla, and elemi; maybe I’m confusing the cinnamon with rose. Pink pepper is clearly noticeable and at times evokes Joop Homme Wild so much it becomes prominent. The only vintage thing is that under that layer of rose and suede, there’s no sweetness at first, but something herbaceous, perhaps the heart, because in 10 minutes it’s already dry. I don’t know the raspberry-leather-saffron drydown of Tuscan Leather, but this one ends with musk, vaguely earthy from the carrot and mainly sweet-spicy. Impression? Modern perfume, dominated by suede and musky tones. Natural? The opening is very synthetic, then it settles. Longevity? It lasts quite a bit but fades to skin-level quickly. Originality? I don’t have many leathers to compare, and this main note doesn’t appeal to me. Usage? For any age, better on a cool day. Maybe it’s worth layering. Blind buy? Might have helped. For the price, you don’t lose much, but if you’re looking for something that really impresses, I wouldn’t go for this. A bit disappointed. UPDATE: Mainly musk, with a light, airy, and luminous touch.
