I’ll sum it up in four words: the best osmanthus on the market. It opens fresh and green with tea—a revitalizing tea surely paired with cheerful citrus and ozony notes from helional. Without any preamble, the absolute appears: a very real, radiant, and proud osmanthus, a major floral note, like a prince accompanied by rose absolute and a white floral note, likely helional or lily, with fruity ozony nuances and a jasmine touch. Apricot adds a creamy nuance, like cream, accompanying, dressing up, and filling out to let the proud osmanthus shine, feeling boosted as if it had taken a high dose of protein, hit the gym, and developed bigger biceps than usual. This new, strong, and boosted osmanthus feels handsomer than the rest and will stay there with its whole entourage until the end. The musk sweetens, nuances the drydown, and fixes on the skin, going unnoticed as it should in a realistic modern floral. Suede suits it perfectly, adding body; it’s the prince’s layer that carries the Osmanthus, giving a more woody-than-animal effect, all incredibly well nuanced and balanced—great work. Longevity and sillage are excellent, and I find it has quite unisex potential. If it’s by Cortichiatto, which I’m not sure, they certainly did themselves proud with this fragrance. Rating: 9.1
