  I was looking for another warm perfume for the Canadian winter. I’m a huge fan of spicy, warm, vanilla, and cozy scents. I found what I was looking for at TONKA GOLD. It doesn’t fall into the cloying or overly gourmand category; it smells like Christmas cookies. At the same time, it gives off that warmth, almost like being near a fireplace on a snowy night. If you’ve seen the movie Shrek, you’ll remember the Gingerbread Man character 🍪. A chatty human cookie. Well, with a little imagination, I can assure you he smells like this perfume. The opening is powerful, but it drops down to a personal bubble quickly. For now, I find its performance a bit weak; it doesn’t have too much trail or projection. But most likely, it will gain strength over time (oxidation). P.S.: I find it tremendously appealing to the female audience, but I, being a straight man, wear it without any shame or stigma.

  It follows the DNA of Kilian’s Angels’ Share quite well, but with a distinct twist. It keeps that sweet and spicy vibe of the original, though with less of the mature, refined woodiness that Kilian has. For the price, it’s an alternative that delivers really well. For an average nose without deep perfume analysis experience, you probably won’t notice many differences in the air. Overall, it conveys that same warm, enveloping sensation that makes the original so popular, inspired by cognac, vanilla, and spices.
