It opens fresh, warm, and floral; nothing like the iris in Dior Pour Homme. This is a fruitier, lighter iris, slightly synthetic and herbaceous. At first, an exquisite bergamot shines through, reminiscent of Dilmah teas, before quickly transitioning to clean, warm notes with a soft, aquatic, fruity iris—distinct from what we’re used to. Projection is moderate, but generous applications last well throughout the day, followed by vetiver and woody notes; the amber adds a shy yet elegant warmth. The downside: the bottle and box aren’t visually appealing. Everything is judged by sight first, and the name ‘Shaman’ didn’t convince me—it sounded off, maybe due to bias, which made me hesitate to buy it. But the fragrance itself is excellent.
My wife, who loves citrus scents like Aqua di Giò or Invictus, thinks this smells like my grandfather’s perfume and asks me not to wear it.
