  I tried the Discovery Set and, in my opinion, they are among the brand’s best. The scent is fascinating, and those who say they resemble ‘The Noir 29’ are right—they hit that exact concept. You’d need a very experienced nose to spot differences if you sniff them together. But when worn dry on different skin, nuances emerge. ‘Ruy Lopez’ stands out more in the opening thanks to that cherry note; the aroma becomes sweeter, but not cloying, rather ‘dark and mysterious.’ Even as the cherry intensity fades, the longevity remains impressive. I believe with the help of the declared rum, though it feels not at all alcoholic on the skin. I also can’t detect any leather note anywhere. Cherry, Rose, Herbal. ‘The Noir’ feels fresher and more herbal; as it dries down, a rose note appears (I’m not sure where it comes from since it’s not listed). Fresh, Rose, Herbal. ‘Ekos Alma’ feels more incense-like, cool, and aromatic in the opening. As it dries, a rose emerges; while in the previous ones I sense a red rose, here it’s a pink rose, yet not feminine for all that. Incense, Rose, Herbal. As I mentioned, sniffing them separately makes it very hard to distinguish one from the other. Scent: 9.5. Longevity: 9. Sillage/Projection: 9. Originality: 6.8. Value: 7.
