This Arab house’s perfume is brutal. The bottle is metallic with embedded stones, an Arab-style design that’s gorgeous; it comes with a glass stick and feels luxurious, so the packaging alone is worth it, though the liquid is an absolute perfume bomb. At first, it smells of fruity wood, which I love and defines the fragrance. In the dry-down, that woody note is gently composed, seasoned with fruits and spices, evoking memories of Arab patisserie—specifically a date, almond, and fig pastry wrapped in candied fig leaf I ate in Egypt, a delicacy this perfume brings back to life. Then the essence turns creamy, with a subtle jasmine that adds florality without being loud, because here the woods shine with an animalic touch I adore: sweet, creamy, and captivating, as if there’s a faint, volatile vanilla framing a heart of smoked cream, exquisite and never cloying. I loved it, it surprised me, but the day I tried it wasn’t ideal: today it’s 30°C, and with so much heat and humidity, a scent like this isn’t the best choice, yet it’s still a masterpiece. It’s generally a nighttime fragrance for cool nights year-round, or for day and night in winter and autumn. Totally unisex. The longevity and sillage are immense; with the stick well-drained and just a light touch on the skin, it smelled stronger than hell for over 10 hours—I’ve already showered, and if I press my nose close, I can still catch it. If you like oriental scents with a gourmand twist, you have to try this, and given the price, it’s an almost guaranteed buy.
