It doesn’t smell much like patchouli in the end; Agua Etherius feels more like a ‘light flavor.’ Ideal for patchouli skeptics or those on the fence, it’s like a perfume made with homeopathy. If you’re looking for classic, intense, or deep patchouli, forget Patchouli Aromatique. It has warm rose notes and a spicy touch, but with just a hint of patchouli and vetiver, it’s too ethereal and timid on the skin for the 180 euros it costs. A bit mossy, woody, and resinous, yet lacks the personality to justify the price; it’s a flat, pale green fragrance that doesn’t move me. It could come from any pharmacy or obscure brand—nothing makes it worth buying. The Maison collection is better; this is a clear water hole. To be forgotten.
